Yamaha consistently outranks other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) when rated by US motorsports dealers. Every two years, Dealernews (an independent industry publication) surveys US based motorsports dealers on their OEM partners. The most recent results were published in the November 2008 issue in the OEM Reportcard article. Overall, 309 dealers representing 7 different manufacturers participated. 67 of the 309 responding dealers carry Yamaha, giving Yamaha the highest participation of any OEM. Dealers rated manufacturers in 17 different categories ranging from products to dealership support to overall relationship with the manufacturer. Yamaha scored either first or second in 13 of the 17 categories, had the highest overall average score of any manufacturer, and was also higher than the industry average in every category surveyed.
